Tyler  "mom could you tell me about dogs?"

Rhi  "{insert various facts about dogs} and sometimes they play with sticks"

T  "yeah, and then they get hurt and have to take the ambulance to the hospital and the doctor appointment"
R  "Well, Tyler, there's no ambulance for doggies."

T  "Then the fire truck."

R  "actually, the fire truck won't come get doggies, its not their job. We have to take them to the veterinarian-the animal doctor"

T  "what do they do there"

R  "the same kind of stuff that doctors do, but for doggies and kitties..."

T  "and giraffes and elks too."

Giraffes and elks? where did they come from???  and how did he connect the firemen??
