For this family Saturday, we were kicking around ideas and Matt came up with the winner-Evergreen Aviation and Space Museum in McMinnville. Its a bit of a drive, especially when Seren is not finding her dolls and book enough stimulation, but worth it in the end.
The kids had a blast running around, seeing all the different old airplanes, going inside the Spruce Goose, helicopters, and even (gasp) old guns! So much history, ingenuity and technology in two large buildings.
And...a friend and the realtor that sold our Portland house happened to be there with a group dressed up as Stars Wars characters-I hoping the pictures on his camera turned out better than ours.
Matt and both commented today that while the shift for me from 8 to 12 hour shifts is taking some getting used to for family life, we are more appreciative of the time we do have all four together. We seem to be making a great effort to get some fulfilling and fun activities done on the weekend days I do get off :)
They always find the buckles to play with-anywhere. And the movies-anywhere!
Next full weekend off we have something special planned for Tyler....and its a good thing his sister seems to enjoy all the same things he does!
