So we put in an offer on a little over 2 acres on "the bay road." You can't actually see the bay, but with some tree cutting you could see Parker Slough. Which we though was an "almond" as a family friend calls it since there are Parkers on both sides of Matt's family, that being why it is his middle name :) We had the agent write the offer with a lot of contingencies because there was so much missing information. Like the water situation. The bay road is well know in Newport (as well as a few other areas) for not having much water. Because it is on the bay, if you drill too deep for a well, you hit bay water...not so good for drinking. And there was a host of other unknowns that we felt required surveying and looking in to before totally committing. Well someone else put in an offer the same day we did with a different group of agents. They were chosen.
So we move onward and upward. It was good, had lots of potentially, but I'm neither heartbroken or surprised they chose another offer. I think that clearly says its for the best.
After I got off work today (and purchased some fresh fish us and the grandfolk to eat for dinner....that's right be jealous! Discounts are part of my perks) we took a drive out to a 5 acre piece of land. And so the debate for us starts again!
