Today Matt had a meeting with one of his co-workers who happens to be in charge of the HR type stuff for their firm. He told Matt that our insurance has a program that gives out free car seats.
So of course we tried looking it up. The Health Net website did not make it easy to find information about this. It very briefly talked about a Pregnancy Program, but finally Matt had to call them to try to find out what it involved. First, the person he talked to had the same information as him, which did not fit what the website said. The info we could find said something about taking a car seat safety class and having received prenatal care since the first trimester.
Ok, not such a big deal right? So he got off the phone with us being told we just needed to get a form from the midwifes verifying I've had prenatal care....only to get a call back a few minutes later saying that because we didn't sign up for the program in the first or second trimester we weren't eligible. Boo on you!!!! No free car seat for us, but it was good in theory.
